The Highlands Ability Battery is the gold standard among assessment tools measuring individual abilities. By means of objective timed worksamples taken online, it helps individuals to understand their natural abilities. Most adults have never had an assessment of their natural abilities - and have moved into and out of roles and jobs without the benefit of a comprehensive abilities assessment. People are often surprised by their reports, which uncover abilities they never knew they had.

About natural abilities
Everyone is born with a range of abilities unique to him or her. It’s fair to say that these abilities are essentially hard-wired. They mature during infancy and can be measured in most individuals after the age of fourteen. Highlands measures these abilities by asking the individual to perform nineteen hands-on worksamples and then to determine the patterns or “clusters” into which each person’s abilities fall. Armed with this knowledge, the individual is able to achieve satisfaction and avoid stress at work

Applications
Your natural abilities are important to consider when making educational,career or life decisions. They influence:

the environment that feels most comfortable to you
how you learn new information most easily
how you solve problems and make decisions most effectively
how you communicate with others most effectively

Among other things you will want to take your abilities into consideration when:

Identifying possible careers
Changing your career
Identifying new directions for your current career
Reentering the workforce
Maximising your performance at work

Taking the Assessment
You take the assessment online on your own computer. It takes approximately 3 hours to complete.

Report and Feedback
After completing the Highlands Ability Battery you receive a thirty-page report. This is followed by an individual feedback appointment with a trained Highlands affiliate to help you put your report into personal context. This debrief session takes 2 hours. Both the report and feedback focus on the relationship between your innate abilities and your life and work.

The feedback appointment can take place over the telephone (as is most common) or in person, dependent on which is most convenient to you.

Prices
The cost of the battery is £265 inclusive of the online battery; the 30 page report; the 2 hour individual feedback.
