INTERVIEW COACHING
The background: Tracy, in her late twenties had a successful career in local government. An attractive opportunity arose which would take her career to the next level. There was stiff competition for the position and she wanted to ensure she performed at her absolute best at the interview. She engaged us to work with her to get her prepared.
The issues o Developing unshakeable confidence o Being articulate about her experience, motivations and career plans o Understanding of what the interviewer was looking for.
The process Using a combination of worksheets, role-play and discussion Tracy worked one-to-one with an expert career coach to get her feeling 100% prepared on the day. As a result she was able to clearly & confidently articulate her experience to be entirely relevant to the position in question. Role-play rehearsed tricky interview questions and areas of concern.
The results The employers said it was the best interview they had seen in 10 years. Tracy was chosen over an internal candidate on the strength of her interview.
What Tracy says "Working with my career coach helped me to understand the interview process more and focused my thoughts on preparing myself appropriately for the job I was going for. I was able to walk into the interview room 100% more confident, trusting myself, and succeeded in presenting my best side. A couple of hours later I got the phonecall offering me the job! I later discovered that I was chosen over a proven internal candidate on the strength of my interview."
